Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman was a U.S. Olympic captain for the team that was awarded gold at the 2012 Olympics. Six of her Olympic gold medals comprise of a record-breaking total. Aly was also one of the two World Champion teams. A native of Needham, Massachusetts, Aly's enthusiasm for sport is traced to a "mommy and me" gymnastics lesson she took as a baby of 18 months. Aly has been an active advocate for body positive and is also a leader as well as an activist on the ground. She has recently spoken out about Larry Nassar's sentencing. She was born in 1994. Aly Raisman started gymnastics at an early age and played a role in helping the U.S. gymnastics team win the 2011 World Championships. In 2012, the gymnast won two gold medals at the London Olympics - one in the team event and another in individual floor exercises and also a bronze on the beam. Raisman won silver in both the floor and individual finals at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. In addition, she took home the gold medal from the competition for team gymnastics. Raisman was the subject of a scandalous revelation in 2017. She had been sexually abused at the hands former team physician Larry Nassar. In the time that followed, Raisman sued USA Gymnastics.
