Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine is a Philadelphia native was born and raised in the city. Pam Her mother, who was a former backup singer for Philadelphia International Records. Her father offered her an opportunity to be the curator of the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She along with her family moved into the historical place of historical significance. The year 2005 marks her Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts graduates who is majoring in the field of vocal music. Sullivan played the contralto member of the choir for children and several years later she joined the adult choir. His exposure to secular music was not extensive at first "I was doing solos in churches and a person wanted me to join gospel labels when I had turned eleven, however I wasn't prepared to sign that contract," she recalls. "Then McDonald's offered a competition to kids from cities. Then I had the opportunity to perform Accept What God Allows on It's Showtime Apollo. The audience was extremely welcoming." Stevie Wonder sang her part during her grandsons 13th birthday party. Sullivan began her contract with Jive Records at the age fifteen. When she was 15 the label signed her to Jive Records. They recorded her complete album, but it wasn't made available for release. Sullivan was eventually dropped off the record label. She maintained a working relationship with Missy Elliott she produced many of the tracks for her debut project, including the buzz single "Backstabbers" that was written and produced by Timbaland and written by Elliott.
